Julie - Chronic Eczema

My chronic eczema was triggered in 2014 due to the stress/anxiety from my divorce. Prior to this, I had eczema flares only during busy season at work. These flares were minor (isolated to a few spots) and short-lived and would go away once the stressful busy season was done. The eczema triggered by my divorce was different. It was all over my body. No matter how many prescription creams I used, it didn’t go away. My dermatologist didn’t have any other advice besides applying the prescription creams methodically. My skin would be clear in the morning, but the red, angry, itchy eczema always returned at night. Even once things were calming down in my life and I was in a good place, the eczema was not getting better but instead was getting worse. I felt like a switch in my immune system needed to be flipped back to normal.

In the spring of 2016, a friend posted on Facebook about her experience with acupuncture in helping ease her anxiety. I reached out to her to find out more and decided to give it a try. Since my eczema was triggered by stress/anxiety, perhaps it could help me too.

I started seeing Jason Neff  for weekly acupuncture sessions.  He also recommended some Chinese herbs. I think the best way to describe the sessions is that it felt like a deep meditation. I can feel the stress/anxiety leaving my body, mind and am blissfully calm afterwards. After the second treatment, I noticed a huge improvement in my eczema...about 90% of it was gone!!! It was absolutely amazing! I also felt much calmer and felt that my stress/anxiety levels were way down. It was like the stress/anxiety was trapped in my body for all those years and needed to be released.

It’s been a little over 1.5 years since I started. My skin is normal and clear the majority of the time with only occasional minor flares.

I highly recommend Jason. I am so grateful to him for clearing up my chronic eczema.  He is deeply knowledgeable about Chinese medicine. In addition, he has so much wisdom and insightful advice on helping me manage the stress/anxiety in my daily life.
